The meaning of 5700 miles has changed exponentially in the past 10 years.

The internet allows us to see, hear and interact with people different continents creating the illusion of an ever-shrinking planet.

Through a series of both texts and photographs, ‘Talk Soon’ documents the journey of a ‘fragile connection with another person via … screen’ (Fedorova 2016) on two opposite sides of the planet from the beginning to the end of a relationship.

The book questions how the definition of distance has changed now that we spend more time online than we do asleep.

The project highlights the difference between the physical and digital world with a series of film photographs from time spent physically with a significant other, punctuated with texts from time spent in the virtual world.
